Privacy Policy
Template for review — this document must be reviewed and approved by a North Carolina real-estate attorney (and where applicable the supervising broker-in-charge) before publication. Last reviewed: 2026-07-01
Information we collect
We collect only what the tools on this site need to work:
- Contact details you type in: your first name, your email address, and — only where a form explains why it is needed — an optional phone number.
- Your tool answers: the objective criteria you select in our planning and comparison tools (for example budget range, housing type, travel-time priorities). We never ask about race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
- Attribution information: how you arrived at the site (for example campaign tags in the link you clicked, the referring page, and the landing page).
How we use your information
- To deliver the specific resource or result you requested.
- To operate, secure and improve the site and its tools.
- To send optional marketing emails — only if you separately opt in, and you can opt out at any time.
- To introduce you to a participating licensed North Carolina real-estate firm — only if you explicitly request it.
Service delivery vs. marketing — two separate choices
When you request a resource, we ask you to acknowledge this policy so we can deliver it. That is a service-delivery consent. Marketing consent is a separate, optional, never-preselected checkbox. Declining marketing never affects your access to any resource or tool. You can change either choice at any time on the Communication Preferences page.
Sale of personal information
[CONFIRM FACTUAL ACCURACY BEFORE PUBLISHING] We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertising networks for their own use.
When we share information
Your information is shared with a real-estate firm in exactly one situation: you gave explicit consent to be introduced to, or to share your criteria with, the identified licensed North Carolina firm named in our Consumer Disclosures. Your information is never auto-submitted to multiple agents or distributed to unidentified third parties. We may also use service providers (such as hosting and email delivery) who process data only on our instructions, and we may disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep information
[SET RETENTION POLICY — ATTORNEY REVIEW] Placeholder: lead and preference records are retained for [X months/years] after your last interaction, then deleted or anonymized, except where a longer period is required by law or by real-estate record-keeping rules.
Your rights: access, export and deletion
You can ask what information we hold about you, request a copy of it, and request that it be deleted. Use the Data Deletion Request page for deletion, the Communication Preferences page to change how we contact you, or email us (address below) for access and export requests.
Cookies and analytics
[ATTORNEY REVIEW] Placeholder: describe here the specific cookies, analytics provider(s), consent mechanism, and any regional consent-banner behavior actually deployed at launch. Our analytics are configured never to capture names, email addresses, phone numbers, or financial inputs.
Children
This site is intended for adults planning a move. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the “last reviewed” date at the top of this page and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
